Look Mom, I can do my own hair!
So my daughter was down with a virus this week and she has to be 24 hours without a fever to return to preschool or day care which was Thursday. I work from home and she came down to greet me with her hair in disarray. I asked her if she wanted me to put a "pony" (pointail holder) in it and then I said, "or do you want to do it?" I wish I could have captured he face. She thought for a moment, and I could see the wheels turning thinking I never thought about putting things in my own hair, and she finally responded with YES! She immediately marched upstairs to remove the many "pretties" (ponytail holders & barettes) from her dolls hair - which by the way are really meant for my daughter.

True strength is delicate.
So i'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with life lately, as we all do from time to time, and found inspiration from a recent card I made for someone else. Isn't it funny how you can intend for a message to be forothers when in fact you are the one that really needs to hear it. I love how God works that way. Enjoy!

Crafting vs. Studying
At first thought this may be a simple choice, right? Well this past week (who am I kidding it's the past two weeks) I have chosen crafting. Now not to overwhelm you with all that I have accomplished I have chosen a gift bag and card to share with you. Keep in mind this was created two hours before the pool/birthday party with my 4 year old chomping at the bit to dispatch-us-forth-with to the pool immediately. It's always gratifiying to take something as simple as a plain gift bag and dress it up!
I use Dora paper and stickers (that i just had to have when my daughter was obsessed with Dora), the negative of a Making Memories Chipboard number, We R Memory Keeprs washer, Ribbon - Joanns, Happy Birthday stamp - Hero Arts (mayber?), Celebrate stamp - Inkadinkadoo.
As a foot note I premade a page ready for a first day of preschool picture. Hopefully I'll have the photo printed before she starts kindergarten! :)

Where or where have I been???
Well for those that shared in my excitement of creating a blog may have been disappointed recently at my lack of activity. I too have shared in this disappointment. While I have created a scrapbook page and a birthday calendar, my creative time has been somewhat limited.
In my quest for knowledege I have returned to the pursuit of higher education. Ok really I am simply trying to obtain a BS in Business before my kids graduate high school. (keep in my mind daughter doesn't start Kindergarten until next year!) So yes I am taking 3 credit hours and in my infinite wisdom I decided to take an online course. Because it should be more convenient environment to learn right? Hah! NOT so, while convenient as in I can learn at any hour of the day, it is much more demanding that actually attending school in person. I don't think I'll ever take an online course again.
So the bottom line is that I have been very busy with work and now school, which both impede on my ability to be crafty and creative! For those loyal watchers (Alicia-I think that just you ;) ) I vow to be diligent and try to post atleast weekly. Stay tuned!!

My day consumed by loading the ipod
So my mom gave my husband an ipod for Christmas, but I'm the one with a computer. So his ipod has been sitting pretty in it's case since then. After much flack I finally decided to take on the chore of loading his ipod. Now my husband is a huge Prince fan. So you know what that means for me....loading 30 + CD's into itunes. I know I should have done this months ago, especially the time when he actually had all the CD's pulled out. Well at least I'm tackeling it now. The bonus is I think all these songs will load into my ipod too!

Look at all i've done!!
So recently I went through a crafting dry spell where I didn't have time to be creative and craft. Well that has all changed this week! I have stayed up into the wee hours of the morning (2:00 am one night) and got back into the swing of things. I know a couple of these are the same, but when you've got a good thing, stick with it.
Card Sketch Challenge
So one of my craft sisters on another site posted a sketch challenge and here is what I came up with. I am pretty impressed with my self as I used a new material for the card base. It's a frosted vinyl that was easily cut and scored. You should be able to find it at your local office supply or copy store.
It's official.....i have a blog now
Ok, so i have succomed to peer pressure and created a blod.....because "every one is doing it", right? This is a whole new world to me and we'll see if i can keep up. :) I hope you enjoy my creations and tibits of me.
