PTI, CPS Sketch 153 & found color inspiration

Here's my entry for the CPS Sketch 153. I am in love with this color combo that I found on the cover of a recent JCPenny mailer. The colors are Hibiscus, Orange, White & Pale Leaf Green.
I also took the opportunity flesh out a vision I had for the bicycle image from PTI's Everyday Button Bits - flowers for the tires. My flower tires even turn! I used an eyelet and then affixed the die cut flower with a gem brad. This also reminds of a cool bike a friend has that has flowers in the tires, so when riding it makes flower impressions!! How cool is that AND it's a grown up bike!

Emboss Resist & PTI

Ok I have been stalking Nichole Heady's blog each day since the 1st with amazement at all the exciting things going on for Papertrey Ink's 3rd anniversary. Here's my hand at the emboss resist technique that Nichole demo'd yesterday on her blog. I have never tried thie technique before, but boy does it create a really nice effect! I realize there isn't much originality in my creations today, but the challenge was to simpy try out the technique. Now i just need to come up with some other layer combinations. Thanks for stopping by!

Yellow & Navy Inspired Card - CPS Sketch 49

Last weekend as I was parusing through Target, we walked past the baby area where we saw an adorable set of yellow & navy onsies. The patterns included a white flower, polka dots and cute little bug. I knew I had to create a card with this color scheme. I used my color inspiration along with this weeks CPS Sketch 49. Click on the image for a larger view. Friend I am totally getting the hang of using my PTI background stamps!!
