Flower Soft

So, I the kind of girl that once I get latched on to an idea I get obsessed. The other day in the Papertrey forum someone brought up a product called Flower Soft. I had to know what it was and Niki Estes was kind enough to post this video link. This began the obsession. I called my local stamp store to see if this was a product they carried..... no such luck. BUT they gave me the name of a nearby scrapbook store that did!!! I jumped in the car and headed over. I came home with four pots (which was showing some restraint because I started out with WAY more). This stuff is pretty cool. It creates a really cool soft, texture for your cards. Be sure to check out the video because it gives great ideas.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Lemon Tart, Lavender Moon); Accent 110# White
Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Out On a Limb), CTMH (Treasure Life)
Ink: CTMH (Sweet Leaf)
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink (Berry Sorbet)
Other: ScorePal

Sooo much to share!

First off, the April SheetLoad sneak peaks are up. This is a VERY exciting issue as one of my new favorite stamp companies is this months sponsor. Can you guess who? Go check out the rest of the sneak peaks here.
Second, Reanne lost her first tooth on Monday! My baby is growing up!! In case you are wondering the Tooth Fairy brought her $1 under her pillow and $1.25 to her grandmother's. Boy it's good to have grandparents, isn't it?
And last, but not least here is what's left of the Key Lime cupcakes I made last night. I LOVE Key Lime and found a recipe on the Wilton website for Key Lime Frosting, so i was on a mission last night. If you like Key Lime you will love, love, love this. I couldn't find the actual limes so I use Key Lime juice and zest from a regular lime.

Papertrey & Paper Crafts

Ok be sure to scroll down as I have two posts today!
First off I am giddy to be featured again as a Honarable Mention on Papertrey Ink's Guest Star Stamper for March. You can see the entire layout here.
I have been saying for a couple of years that I would enter the Paper Crafts Stamping Royalty contest, but have never actually created a submission..... that is until this year. I was bound and determined to follow through. I have read through the rules three times and don't see any mention of not being able to post my entries, so for your viewing pleasure I present...
There's no Place Like Home
I absolutely love how the Yellow Brick Road turned out.

A Very Merry unBirthday to You

The mushroom stamps are the new Studio G at Michael's. When I saw them I knew they would be perfect for this card. I hand colored them all with my Copic Markers.

Show us your SheetLoad

Be sure to check out the great CTMH prizes Melissa has donated for this month's Show Us Your SheetLoad! I can't wait to see what you have created with this month's sketch.

Spring Break Day 1

I was so proud of myself for not actually crying (although I did well up a bit) when Douglas's plan left. He looked so handsome!
So after we shipped him off, we jumped in the car and heading west. We arrived and had an awsome home made dinner at my mom's friends house. He raises cattle and they just had calves. Reanne wouldn't get too close. ;)
Today we went to the Royal Gorge. Doug, Reanne & I walked across. About half way Reanne says, " Reanne be brave, Reanne be brave." It was just tooo funny! Can't wait to see what adventures are in store for tomorrow.

Douglas's Big Adventure

I am so proud I can't stand it! Douglas leaves tomorrow for the Jr. National Young Leaders Conference in Wahsington D.C. He was nominated by his Math Club teacher "who recongnized him as one of a select group of students with scholastic merit, maturity and strenght of character to represent Bluejacket-Flint Elementary School at this unique leadership program for exceptional 6th & 7th graders." This is a once in a lifetime experience for him that we just couldn't pass up. The activities include: walking tour of Capitol Hill, activities on leadership & group meetings, visit to Harpers Ferry, tour of our Nation's Memorials, visit to the American History Museum, visit to the White House and more.
If you would like to help sponsor Douglas's trip you can do so through the Paypal Donate button at the top of the blog. Thanks!

CPS Sketch

Here's my take on this week's sketch over at CPS. I wanted to really showcase this beautiful paper called Modern Milan by Me & My Big Ideas that I found at Archiver's this week. Papertrey Ink's Pure Poppy ribbon went beautifully with it.

Supplies:

Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mixed Messages, Wedding Day)

Paper: MMBI (Modern Milan), Stash (Blue & Orange Cardstock), ShortCuts (Frosted Card Blank)

Ink: Momento Black, Versamark Dazzle - Frost

Other: Nestabilities Labels 1, Papertrey Ink ( Pure Poppy Satin Ribbon), Fiskars Border Punch(Effervescence)

Read Across America

So this week I got the opportunity to read to Reanne's class. I really enjoyed it! Reanne requested I read Green Eggs & Ham. As part of the celebration, they had to take a picture of the wackiest place they could read a Dr. Seuss book. The trunk may not be too wacky, but it was the best we could do.
