Enjoy the Ride!

I have been anxiously awaiting my recent order from Papertrey Ink and it arrived today!!! I immediately tore open the box and got the creative juices flowing. The card below is for Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge # 13 as well as Papertrey Paper Dolls Sketch #10.
First up is the inspiration from OTWC #13. I LOVE this image! It reminds me of Aqua Mist and Hibiscus Burst, so those are the colors I used in my card.

I created my own pattern paper using the sentiment image from Enjoy the Ride, accenting one by stamping in Hibiscus Burst. I also used my medium scalloped Border die with some Hibiscus Burst cardstock, along with some Aqua Mist ribbon, cardstock & ink. The layout is based on PPD's Sketch #10 below.

Thanks for stopping by and Enjoy the Ride!

Happy Father's Day!

Dad's are so hard to buy for!! Wether it's your own dad or your husband, ugh! This year I went the traditional route and bought my dad a couple of shirts. I did really good and had them purchased last weekend, but do you think that would mean they were mailed on time. NO! I sent it yesterday for saturday delivery.......
Anyway here's the card I made him to go with his gift. I just love this bicycle image from Papertrey Ink's Everyday Button Bits. I am also IN LOVE with A Little Argyle, which I also used here. I used a real thick vellum to stamp the bicycle & Father on the front as I didn't want to cover up the super cute argyle pattern I created.

We'll Sunday will be a busy day with church, then set up for Girl Scout Day camp and then Father's Day dinner with the family. I hope all the dad's out there have a a fantastic day!!

Life

So sometimes there just so much going on in life that blogging goes by the way side. It has been a very busy couple of months for me. I've traveled for work, a birthday, cake decorating classes, kids last day of school, road trip to visit family and a family reunion, baseball games, softball games, baseball/softball practices, a dance recital for my 6 yo, and an awards ceremony celebrating high ACT & SAT scores for my 13 yo, and family visit at our house, and visited the President Truman's home, library & museum. Ok, so now you are caught up!
Here's a picture of Douglas & Reanne at the Lied Center at the Univeristy of Kansas with Baby Jay. The Duke TIP program held their recognition ceremony for 7th graders whose SAT/ACT scores qualified them for state recognition. I am so proud of Douglas!
Although there has not been too much time crafting.... that didn't stop my collecting of supplies!!!!
While visiting my Grandmother in Jetmore, KS we stopped into the little shop that she and other ladies run. It has hand made items as well as a antique/thrift store type of finds. This is where I picked up a set of vintage Bingo cards with a few wooden bingo pieces! The price said $.10, but since I know my grandmother and the other ladies depend on the sales to keep the shop running, I paid $2, which is still an absolute steal!
This card was made for the Moxie Fab blog challenge using bicycles. I didn't finish my entry in time to enter, but I thought I'd share anyway. i made this as a thank you card for my grandmother so she could see what I could do with those bingo cards!
Lastly is my very first cake from my second night of cake decorating! I asked my mom for the class and tools for my birthday this year. We learned the star technique. I drew the butterfly free hand tnd then filled it in with different colored icing. I really enjoyed the class!
Card supplies Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Background Basics: Text Style II, Big Bold Wishes), Waltzing Mouse Stamps (Free Spirit - Boy) Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist), DCWV (Linen) Ink: CTMH (Vanilla Cream, Chocolate)
