Mer Ian

Ohh my! I so love this cute guy! I knew he had to be paired with his mate. I just need the right occasion for this card and I'll add a sentiment to the front!
Love, love, love The Greeting Farm!!!

Inside Out PTI Blog Hop

Ok I am on the ball this time. I remembered this month's blog hop and got my card done in time!!!

After watching Dawn McVey's video post on how to create backgrounds using the PTI stamps I sat down and created a whole buch of different patterns on various scraps of cardstock. I decided to stick with a monochromatic theme using Lavendar Moon and Plum Pudding. I used the following stamps sets: Damask Designs, Background Basics: Diamonds, Background Basics: Hearts, and Birthday Basics. I also went a little old school and pulled out a template that I bought when I first began making cards. Remember when this style was so HOT! Sometimes going back and using some old techniques isn't so bad.

Here's a fuzzy close up. I took this so you could see the shimmer! It is a products called Bliss Mist Radiant Shimmer at a local stamp store in Canon City, CO when visiting my mom; I used Purple Passion on these cards.

Sunflower Thinking of You

I haven't had much time for crafting this week, been busy with work, kids, and had a killer-make-you-sick headache on Friday. I managed to get this card done earlier this week and finally had time to take a picture. I colored this image some time ago and it was just waiting for a card base. I pulled out some Spellbinders Labels dies and went to town. I also used my Score-it for some added texture to the deep brown cardstock base. This image & sentiment are part of PTI's Autumn Abundance.
I LOVE SUNFLOWERS! I'm not over the top gaudy with my love, but I do have a few choice items scattered throughout my kitchen and dinning room; like the beautiful pitcher in the background.

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Turquoise & Gold

I couldn't resist this weeks Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab blog. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors, so I was totally in with this one. The other thing that inspired me with this challege was the white on gold patter of the wall.
I used my favorite stamps, PTI, of course. This card features Big & Bold Wishes, Damask Designs and Friends Til The End. I am obsessed with coloring these flowers!

here's a close up of the pattern I created using the largest image from Damask Designs and White Daisy ink from CTMH. The cardstock is a BEAUTIFUL pale gold linen cardstock by Neenah that I found at my local Xpedx. If you have one in your area, it is a must visit for you. You can buy cardstock by the ream (250 sheets), which is soooo much more cost effective. For instance a ream of 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White (good for use with Copics) boils down to $.12 per sheet!

Are you wishing you were in at CHA this weekend like me? Ohhhh maybe some day! :)

Moxie Fab Color Challenge

So one of my goals this year is to bust out all the birthday cards for my birthday calendar in advance and have them all ready to send out. I am using the various challenges I come across the achieve my goal!
Today I am sharing with you the color challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog. You could use only the four colors in this swatch. I decided to keep it really simple. The colors at first seemed to be an unusual match up, but put together they turned out to be stunning!

  • Ink: Papertrey Ink (Summer Sunrise)
  • Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Summer Sunrise), Unknown (Grape, Pomegranate, White)
  • Other: Martha Stewart (Butterfly Punch)

Taylored Expressions Sketch 96

Last but not least, my third post for today. I have two cards based on Taylors sketch.
For my first card I decided to create my own background and inverted the proportions on the sketch.
My second card is for my hubby for Valentine's Day. Believe it or not, there is no stamping on this card. I can't remember the last time I created a card without stamping! Truth be told I've had this owl die for atleast a year and this is the first time I've used it. The sentiment in glitter stickers says "Owl B Yours"

For this card I was able to pull out an image that I stamped months ago along with some DCWV paper that I LOVE! I've also incorporated some NEW PTI stamps. Ahhhhh heaven!!

Rasberry Suite Color Challenge #21 & 2S4Y #43

One of my favorite crafters to follow is Dawn McVey, so I thought I would give her color challenge a try! Besides, what else is there to do in the evenings when its 2 degrees outside with blustery winds and snow.

I also decided to kill two birds with one stone and combined the color challenge with my interpretation of this weeks 2Sketches4U sketch.

Here's what I pulled together with this awesome color combo, of course using stamps from my favorite stamps company - PTI!

The photo doesn't do the colors in this card justice. I colored in the polka dots and they are much more muted than what shows up in the photo. I also stamped on flower image with Versamark on the Lemon Tart cardstock. Thanks Dawn for the inspiration!

  • Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Polka Dot Basics, Big Bold Wishes, Friends Til The End)
  • Ink: Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist), CTMH (Chocolate), Versamark, Copic Markers
  • Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist), Neenah (Brown, Ivory)
  • Other: Papertrey Ink Ribbon (Aqua Mist), Hero Arts Glitter

Here's a card I put together based on this weeks 2S4U. The decorative edge is one of my new, after the holiday's sale acuquisitions!
